who is Pia Fire?
Pia Fire Safety Consultancy was set up with one aim: to keep buildings, and the people who live in, work in and visit them, safe from fire.
We bring over 15 years’ experience in fire prevention and protection. Our assessor is a Member of the Institution of Fire Safety Managers (MIFSM) and is registered with the National Fire Risk Assessor Register (NFRAR).
Why it matters?
In England and Wales, fire safety in all non-domestic premises is governed by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, known as the Fire Safety Order or FSO. It is the main fire safety law for workplaces, offices, shops, schools, care homes, churches and hotels.
The Order also applies to blocks of flats and HMOs. It covers the shared common parts, and since the Fire Safety Act 2021, the building’s structure, external walls (including balconies and windows) and the entrance doors to individual flats.
Under the Order, every premises must have a Responsible Person. This is usually the employer, owner, landlord or managing agent, and they are legally required to make sure a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is in place.
